Eva Maria Eriksson

RYMD

2012

Eva Maria Eriksson is primarily a painter, but she also works with sculpture. Her two-dimensional works revolve around symbolism, sometimes with surreal elements, while the sculptures are more abstract. The circle as a form has played a significant role in Eva Maria Eriksson’s artistic practice and is one of the shapes she has translated into three-dimensional works. Space, this work in painted ship steel, can be viewed from several angles and shifts in both colour and form depending on the viewer’s movement. Space and spheres emerge both in the empty areas between the forms and, in a transferred sense, in the greater space that surrounds us.
